Terms of service
These terms are an agreement between you and [COMPANY NAME], CVR [CVR], [ADDRESS], Denmark ("Carosel", "we"). By using Carosel or buying credits you accept them. We have kept them short and in plain English; nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer under Danish or EU law.
1. What Carosel is
Carosel is a web app that looks at 4–20 photos you choose, together with a topic and a goal, and suggests an order for them as an Instagram carousel — with a short reason for each slide, an optional alternative first slide, and optional suggestions to drop a photo. You can then rearrange the result and save the photos back to your device in the new order, at full quality. The analysis is performed by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude) on downscaled copies of your photos; how we handle those copies is described in our Privacy policy.
Carosel is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Instagram or Meta. It does not post anything on your behalf and never asks for your Instagram login.
2. Free use and accounts
- The demo is free and needs no account.
- You may run one free analysis per device per 30 days without an account. We use a cookie to count this; clearing it to get more free analyses is a breach of these terms.
- To run further analyses you sign in with Google or Apple. A new account receives 3 free credits, once. Creating multiple accounts to collect free credits is not allowed and may lead to those accounts being closed.
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent where you live) and you are responsible for what happens under your account.
- You can delete your account at any time with the Delete account button in the app. Deletion is immediate and permanent; see section 6 for what happens to unused credits.
3. Credits
- 1 credit = 1 analysis of one set of 4–20 photos. Rearranging the result, saving or exporting does not cost credits. Re-running the analysis on the same photos does.
- A credit is deducted when you start an analysis. If our side fails — the AI provider is down, the request times out, the result is unusable, or you cancel before the result arrives — the credit is refunded to your balance automatically. You never pay for our errors.
- A completed analysis whose result you simply do not like is not a failure; that credit is spent. See section 8 on what the AI does and does not promise.
- Credits never expire and are tied to your account. They are not transferable to other accounts and cannot be exchanged for cash except where section 6 gives you a refund right.
- Fair use: to protect the service we cap analyses at 60 per account per day. Contact us if you have a legitimate need above that.
4. Buying credits, prices and VAT
- Credits are sold in packs. The packs, the number of credits and the price are shown in the app before you pay. Prices may change; a change never affects credits you have already bought.
- Payment is handled by Stripe. We accept the payment cards Stripe offers at checkout. We never see your card number.
- Prices are shown in the currency stated at checkout. For customers in the EU, VAT at the rate of your country is included in, or added to, the price as shown on the checkout page before you confirm. You will receive a receipt (and, on request, an invoice with VAT specified) by e-mail from Stripe.
- Credits are added to your balance as soon as Stripe confirms the payment — normally within seconds. If they have not appeared within an hour, write to [SUPPORT EMAIL] with the e-mail you paid with; we will fix it.
5. Your 14-day right of withdrawal (EU consumers)
If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you have the right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days of the purchase without giving a reason (Danish Consumer Contracts Act / Directive 2011/83/EU).
Credits are digital content that is delivered and used immediately. The law therefore lets you agree to give up the right of withdrawal once delivery has begun — and that is what happens here:
- Unused pack: if you have not used any credit from a pack, you can withdraw within 14 days of buying it and receive a full refund of that pack (section 6).
- Used pack: by starting an analysis with a credit from a pack, you expressly request that we begin delivering the service immediately and acknowledge that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal for that pack. You accept these terms — including this acknowledgement — when you confirm the purchase at checkout.
To withdraw, e-mail [SUPPORT EMAIL] within the 14 days with the e-mail address you paid with and the pack you want to withdraw from. You may use the EU model withdrawal form, but you do not have to.
6. Refunds
- Unused pack within 14 days: full refund to the original payment method, within 14 days of your request. The credits from that pack are removed from your balance.
- Failed analyses: refunded automatically as credits (section 3). If a failure was not refunded, tell us and we will correct your balance.
- Our fault: if the service is unavailable for an extended period or we cannot deliver what you paid for, we will refund the unused part of your purchase.
- Account deletion: deleting your account forfeits any remaining credits. If you still have an unused pack inside its 14-day window, request the refund before you delete.
- Refunds are made through Stripe to the card you paid with. We do not pay out credits as cash in other situations.
7. Acceptable use — your photos, your rights
- Only upload photos you took yourself or have the right to use. You keep all rights to your photos; we claim none. You give us only the permission needed to analyse them and show you the result, which ends when the result is delivered.
- Do not upload content that is illegal, that depicts a person in a sexual way without their consent, that sexualises minors, or that you do not have the right to process (for example other people's private photos). We may refuse to process such content and close accounts that do so.
- Do not try to circumvent the free-analysis limits, rate limits or payment; do not scrape, reverse engineer or overload the service; do not use automated tools against it.
- You are responsible for what you post on Instagram, including complying with Instagram's own rules.
8. What the AI does — and does not — promise
The order Carosel suggests is exactly that: a suggestion, produced by an AI model from what it can see in downscaled copies of your photos and the topic you gave it. It explains its reasoning so you can judge it. It can be wrong, it can be inconsistent between runs, and it has no knowledge of your audience or of Instagram's current algorithm.
We make no promise that a suggested order will get more views, swipes, likes, followers or sales, and we are not responsible for how a post performs. The final order is always your decision — the app lets you override every suggestion. Statements in the app about how Instagram serves carousels reflect public statements by Instagram at the time of writing and may become outdated.
9. Availability and changes to the service
We aim to keep Carosel available at all times but do not guarantee it; we depend on third parties (hosting, AI provider, payments) and may need to pause the service for maintenance. We may change or improve features, the AI model used, and the free limits. We will not reduce the value of credits you have already bought: one credit remains one full analysis.
If we ever shut Carosel down, we will give at least 30 days' notice by e-mail and refund unused credits bought within the previous 12 months.
10. Liability
Carosel is provided as a creative tool. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost engagement, lost income or lost followers, and our total liability to you for anything arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or anything that cannot be limited under the mandatory consumer law that applies to you.
11. Intellectual property
The Carosel name, wordmark, design and code belong to us. Your photos belong to you. The text the AI produces about your photos is yours to use freely.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Changes that affect credits, prices, refunds or your rights will be announced in the app and, for signed-in users, by e-mail at least 14 days before they take effect. Credits already bought are governed by the terms in force at the time of purchase where those are more favourable to you.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Danish law. Disputes are settled by the Danish courts; as a consumer you may also bring a case in the courts of your own EU country. Consumers can complain to the Danish dispute resolution body Nævnenes Hus / Center for Klageløsning (naevneneshus.dk) or use the EU online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/odr. Please write to us first — most things are fixed in one e-mail.
